Tree of Life Infographic

I made the following "Tree of Life" infographic in Adobe InDesign. It contains ten planetary spheres and icons for them. Each sphere on the Tree corresponds to some Platonic ideal, for example "Strenght" and "Passion", "Imagination" etc. that I illustrated in Photoshop.

In the infographic below, notice the zig-zag line that connects sphere #1 to #10. This is known as "The Lightning Flash". It is a guided tour that symbolizes how Platonic ideals flow from the highest spheres down to Earth.
Below you can see a preview of my grid design for the Tree of Life glyph:
Quick sketch of the relationship between the "Tree of Life" grid and the "Lightning Strike":
Here you can see an early sketch of my icon designs that i made in Adobe Photoshop:
The 10 images represent the planetary spheres of the Qabalah tree of life (also known as the Sephirot or Telesmic Images). “Sephirot” simply means sphere in Hebrew.

Malkuth is the 10th sphere. It represents our manifest reality and nature all around us here on Earth:
Yesod is the 9th sphere, it corresponds to the imagination and fantasy. This is the penultimate planetary sphere, very close to the physical world and almost touching it:
Hod is the 8th sphere on the Qabalah Tree of Life. It corrresponds to letters, logic and the Logos of the Stoics:
Below you can see my drawing for the 7th planetary sphere which corresponds the morning star of Venus:
Balance is the 6th sphere and it corresponding to the Sun. Aleister Crowley says the corresponding animal is the Lion; It is also associated to solar gods such as Ra, Helios, Apollo and Khors:
Strenght is the 5th sphere on the Tree of Life, corresponding to planet Mars. It represents cutting out things from your life that are holding you back:
Mercy is the 4th sphere, corresponding to planet Jupiter:
For the next 3 spheres I'm showing an earlier version of my information design, which does not include the alchemical associations ring you can see in the final infographic.

The image below is my drawing for the third sphere in the Qabalah tree of life. “Binah” means understanding and also is associated to processing sorrow:
The second image is Chockmah which translated from Hebrew means “wisdom”. It can also be characterised as expansive energy, and corresponds to the titan god Uran who governs the starry sky:
The first sphere is Kether, traditionally represented by a king in profile. In my version it is both a queen and a king:
For the background design, I used various masks and textures in combination with my own drawing of a tree. Here are some iterations of the background illustration:
In order to harmonize all the different textures I applied a dot pattern to the illustration using the "screen" blending mode in Photoshop. This really helped to achieve visual unity:
